About the Program
Beyond Tomorrow Scholars are engaged citizens and young leaders in the classroom, on campus, and in community, locally and globally.
Scholars are expected to participate in enriched and dedicated programming that is shaped by five pillars of success described below.
Wrap-Around Support and Programming
Programming involves personalized touchpoints with dedicated advisors, wrap-around cross-campus support, mentorship connections, workshops/sessions, retreats/conferences, self-directed initiatives, events and skill-building opportunities based on different year levels and outcomes to equip Scholars to prepare for life during and post-university.
Through priority on-campus housing, Scholars have a choice to live close to where they study and are eligible for travel grants to support their transition to/from UBC.
Your 5 Pillars of Success
Academic & Career
You will complete your globally recognized UBC degree with a sense of direction and purpose of your personal, academic, and career goals.
Leadership
Your leadership skills will grow over the course of your degree and you will graduate with a wide network to call on and a successful self-directed project that has made an impact on a community of your choosing.
Community & Belonging
You will make meaningful relationships within your cohort, program, and the wider Black community that outlasts your time at UBC.
Financial
You will celebrate your ability to create financial wellness through skill-building.
Health & Wellbeing
You will become an agent of your health and well-being allowing you to thrive beyond graduation.
Building Community
Building community amongst all UBC Black students at the Vancouver and Okanagan campus and collaboration with organizations are important goals of the program.

Some programming e.g. events, workshops, etc. are open to current UBC Black students as well as Scholars.
